Why is the National Scholarship Portal so important for students
National scholarship portal is a digital portal of multiple scholarships. The portal provides information on scholarships offered by Central government, State governments and different government agencies. It includes the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the AICTE. The National scholarship portal hosts about 50 scholarships to the scholarship seekers across India. To avail the scholarships, one has to register their details on the National scholarship portal.
What is National Scholarship Portal?
The National Scholarship Portal was first introduced under the National e- governance plan (NeGP). The portal provides variety of services, ranging from student scholarship application to disbursal of scholarships. National Scholarship portal ensures that the money is disbursed directly to beneficiary’s account.
How National Scholarship Portal will benefit you?
The National Scholarship Portal is the platform for all kinds of scholarship information. The portal provides better transparency to all its users. The applicant has to make a single integrated application for all scholarships. The portal provides master data of all courses and institutions. It is an all-India level scholarship information on a single platform. The National Scholarship Portal is also a DSS (Decision Support System) for the ministries and departments.
Now the question why National Scholarship was formed?
This is the common question that arises often. What are the reasons behind creating the National Scholarship Portal?
The main objectives of National Scholarship portal is that it ensures the Direct Benefit Transfer option, and the scholarships are disbursed on time. The National scholarship portal is a common platform for a transparent database. It helps in avoiding the duplication while processing application.
As the scholarships are delivered on time, the students can get the best out of this portal. All they have to do is to check the eligibility. Once a student registers on the National Scholarship portal, he/she can track the status of application. Students can also check eligibility status while the authorities undertake the task of verification. After successful verification, the scholarship amount will be delivered directly through Direct Benefit Transfer.
