Opting Career in Mass Communication and Journalism is a significant matter now days .Communicating a large number of people through mass media is Mass Communication. The term looks exhilarating but many are not conscious about the ample characteristic of it. It is not limited to journalism alone. It’s hard to imagine a world without mass communication. Communication medium like newspaper, TV, book, films, radio are used as part of mass communication.

If a person wants to pursue Mass Communication as a career then he/she will need to have creativity. They will have to explain the most compound issue in the simplest ways to a large number of populations.

In mass communication, the communicator does not see the audience and vice versa.

Types of Journalism

There are various types of journalism. Students can pursue journalism such as investigative news, reviews, columns and feature writing etc. But each type of journalism requires different method and diverse writing styles.

Investigative journalism is about a person or community or any event. It requires authentication of sources, precise presentation of facts etc.

The news journalism requires interpretation, enough rationalization to audience or reader in simple manner.

Reviews are mostly written as based on facts or partly opinion based.

Columns are approach of writers. It allows writer to write in personal style. They can write about personal experience and events or issues.

Next one is Feature Writing. It requires depth interpretation, thorough exploration for topic with interviews, proper explanation. It is mostly exploration of a particular topic.

If a student is interested to pursue career in Journalism then there are number of Journalism courses available in the country. Journalism courses teach variety of Journalistic ethics and research skills. This is the foundation of Journalism.
